We the people of New York State feel that all recipients of Public Assistance and Social Security should be drug tested before receiving any kind of Government help. Considering that most tax payers are submitted to taking drug tests before being employed and are randomly drug test when the employer feels necessary. If employers can afford this then why can't the state? At least eight states have passed legislation regarding drug testing or screening for public assistance applicants or recipients (Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah.) New York State needs to be in this list.
