Comments: To close these vital facilities would be disgusting. They are vital to the people of new moston and surrounding area as facilities of these types are few and far between and increasingly difficult for elderly people and young children to get to if you was to get rid of facilities so local.

Comments: Broadway baths/gym is a valuable community asset especially for the younger people of our community.. most of whom come from families with little or no spare money but are currently able to utilise the facility, giving them a positive and healthy option for use of their spare time.. it would be a BIG mistake to close Broadway Baths/Gym.

Comments: This is a real shame and mis-Conceived. A building that was purpose built as a Swimming pool to serve its community for nearly 100 years is being closed because of the need for cuts - shame on you Manchester City Council! Cuts yeah we get that - this is a short sighted cull. Easy to justify with statements like - "the research we have shows this facility is under used" - not my experience I go at various times of the day and night. Plus it's used by Schools for Swimming Lessons - my own Son had lessons there when he was 6 or 7 he is 23 now - (but does not need lessons there!) - You get the point. Find a way to save money else where closing this place is going to cost too much for too many - not least the people who work there, some of them have been there since it first opened - you know who you are (:

Comments: New Moston Library is not just a library but a centre used by the local community. My daughter and now my granddaughter have both learnt to swim at Broadway baths. This action is just another case for scoring political points at the expense of local residents. We are advised to read more with our children and encourage them to be more active, however, Manchester, which has always prided itself as a progressive authority sees fit to take away the most valuable community resources we have in New Moston. Shame on you Manchester. I question the logic and commitment of our local politicians.to the residents who voted them in office.

Comments: The Swimming Baths/Gym & Library are not just buildings they are meeting places for elderley and young alike, places to exchange ideas/gossip. What will New Moston have left if both of te se establishments close, it's unthinkable and totally unneccessary.

Comments: i cant believe that government and health services are encouraging us to keep fit and move more to prevent us from using NHS services as often as we do and prevent the epidemic of obesity and encourage us to move more from children up to all ages and they are now closing a perfect place for people of all ages to do this - i am 51 years old and have used Broadway Baths (as i have always known it) now Broadway Leisure Center, every time I visit the staff are so friendly and i cant believe how they know everyone by name, I live within walking distance of Failsworth Leisure Center but choose to travel to Broadway as the facilities are by far superior and so are the staff, please consider the impact that closing this facility would have on the health of this community and i am sure that there would be other ways of finding the funds to keep it open
