This petition is for the purpose of informing congress and other key government figures that the people of the United States will not stand for Internet censorship, degradation of net neutrality and infringement of our first amendment rights. Because the Internet can be used for so many things, and can provide people with so much information, we have to keep it's use free from censorship. it's not just an infringement of freedom of speech, though. Businesses rely on the Internet for cheap and accessible advertisements, and ISPs are considering slowing or blocking content from web-hosts unless they pay additional charges, and small businesses won't be able to afford this, thus decreasing how much they can advertise. The Internet is also used for sharing of innovative ideas, and can lead to potentially revolutionary inventions and ideas.
