WHY?

First of all, The L Word was not just another TV show. These girls were ourfamily. For some, the only lesbianfriendsthey had. They wererole models, giving hopeto girls who struggled with their sexuality and who they are. For others, they were the onlyform of support. The L Word represented the lesbian community and opened the eyes of many - Gay and straight. It portrayedlesbians as people; with different styles, personalities, careers, relationships, friendships, challenges, tragedies, triumphs, dreams, as well as family. (Because there is no cookie-cutter mold of a lesbian, we are unique individual people). There is no show like it! Andright now, there’s nothingrepresenting the lesbian community. Yes, there are shows with lesbian charactersbut not a showabout lesbians.

HOW?

The rise and success ofNetflixhas lead to theresurrection of showslike Arrested Development. The fans made themselves heard and revealed analready existing/strong audience. Their success proved the power of fans. We can do the same!

The seasons of L Word are already available on Netflix. They just sawhuge successwith Orange is the New Black and Arrested Development being resurrected.

(Ps. Don’t forget we will have it availableOn-Demand AND on our deviceswherever there’s internet!…to watch over and over lol)

The L Word was not only an amazing show, but it gave the lesbian community honest representation on TV. Most TV shows sexualize and exploit lesbian characters and The L Word is one of, if not the only show, I know of that treats lesbians with respect.

I started watching this show before I knew I was gay. As I started to acknowledge my sexuality, The L Word told me there was nothing wrong with me; that in fact, I could be gay and awesome at the same time! Now look at me - I'm gay and awesome!

The L word represented a wide variety of gay women tackling important LGBT issues , something which is in short supply nowadays since the show finished it's last season. Gay women deserve to look at the screen and see a cast which represents them.

I'M A STRAIGHT GIRL WHO ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS SHOW BECAUSE I CAN IDENTIFY WITH EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER. SINCE FINISHING THE SERIES, I ACTUALLY MISS THEM REGULARLY. WE NEED MORE SHOWS CENTERED WHOLLY AROUND REALISTIC, FLAWED, STRONG, BEAUTIFUL WOMEN.

I want some women like myself on tv! I want to know that when I sit down to watch tv I don't only have straight couples to try and identify with, I want to watch two women struggle through a relationship like me and my girlfriend! Bring it back!

Because it's the best show I've ever seen. It inspired me for so many reasons. I'm a happier person because of this show. It was the best decision I've ever made... To watch it. I wish it would come back, and inspire a lot more people, like it did to me.
