Comments: Having grown up with a alcoholic father, I think alcohol should be banned, It causes too much damage, and not just to the alcoholic (who I have little sympathy for), but, mainly, to the people around them, whether physical, psychological or emotional. Let's get rid of alcohol, and, if the alcoholics don't like it, well, tough, they don't care about anyone else, why should we care about them?.

Comments: Alcohol should not be permitted. It is as bad as any other drug, maybe even worse. I was raised in a household with a single alcoholic mother. Now I suffer from anxiety and depression, for reasons I would wish to be secret. I hope alcohol will be banned, to prevent children from ending up with as many problems as me.

Comments: my sister is an alcoholic and is fighting for her life with liver failure due to alcohol. I can appreciate many of you people think its stupid to go banning alcohol and its people like my sister fault for "abusing" it. The fact of the matter is, some people are genetically more predisposed to become dependant on alcohol, and some people through very poor unfortunate chains of events also become highly dependant on alcohol. It becomes a long process and eventually an alcoholic cannot stop themselves. In AA they never say you were an alcoholic but you are always in a state of recovery. Once the invisible line of alcoholism is crossed it never leaves you. Relapses are eventually inevitable. And if people were more sympathetic to these people that cant help it, when obviously alcohol is not necessary for anyone to live, it should be pretty obvious that alcohol being banned is only going to benefit people physically, emotionally, financially and mentally. Alcohol should be baned, and the government increasing duty on it for dependants will not work, it will just get to the point where people cant afford it and will just steal it. You selfish people saying they should just stop before commenting should read up about alcoholism. The effects and how it ruins their and their familiy and friends lives. Its heart breaking. BAN IT

Comments: I agree completely! Alcohol is a piece of shit drink that leads to masochism and sadism! My stupid father is a "victim" of it, and ultimately, makes me the victim of his "drunk-state sadism"! If I could, I would ban alcohol world-wide so much, the next generation won't even know what the word itself means! Millions of people should sign this petition! (sorry if there are grammar mistakes, I'm not english)

Comments: Alcohol is a disgusting chemical, I've seen it destroy so many lives, both indirectly and directly, I've seen 3 young women seriously physically injured coming home from church due to a drunk driver, I've seen it cause a scholary and promising young man who dreamt of going to school to be a police officer, suddenly one day throw everything away and nearly killed his girlfriend for the stuff, I've had a friend who I went to church with, a few years younger than me lose her mother to cirrhosis of the liver, I went to school from kindergarten to my sophomore year of high school with a girl who had fetal alcohol syndrome (Thank the Lord she got adopted by a God-fearing woman who took care of her, fought for her and truly loved her), I've seen so much that it shouldn't even be considered, habits mature before you know it, we start out being okay, then eventually it will snowball into an addiction, you will need it to breathe, don't care who you hurt, what you do, or who is injured seriously. We make alcohol look like something for you to take to be attractive, enticing even younger minions for the almighty army of alcohol. Chuck E. Cheese, a predominantly child friendly restaurant sells liquor. We sell alcohol as a magic elixor to make you stronger and smoother, we know the dangers, we know that alcohol poisoning is real and deadly. Therefore it is with great pride and commendability to the writer that I sign this petition, we know that we cannot get back who we have lost, but maybe

Comments: i am also sick to the skull of this. its making everyone who drinks it look like compleate and utter idiots. however i wouldnt compleately ban it that would seem very unlikely but we could however with the support of the public (which seems quite unlickely) demand for a change of law that if you drink alcahol you will be given one chance to drink responisbly and if you screw it up once thats it you will be banned for life from alchohal i think demanding for a law like that would seem more likely than wanting to ban it altogether.
