My only viable choices are from a monopoly phone company and a monopoly cable company, neither of which compete with each other to any degree. As a matter of fact, I cannot even get an upload speed that qualifies as broadband under the new FCC definition. I'm tied to the cable company even though we've left them (and left the phone company as well) for all other services. My company no longer pays for the service saying that in this day & age nearly everyone already has high speed access. Therefore I'm left to the whims of the cable company.
