We, members in good standing, of the Newfoundland Club of America, petition the NCA Board of Directors to approve the following:
MOTION: The NCA develop a policy to require, beginning January 1, 2011, all dogs born after January 1, 2009 who are intended for breeding, be health tested for hips, elbows, hearts and cystinuria with results, both positive and negative, posted on the OFA database. Repeated failure to health test and disclose, defined as in excess of 25% of dogs used for breeding, will result in exclusion from consideration for breeders list, ROM, top producing sire and dam and top show dog. The criteria for the above should be modified to reflect this new requirement. Compliance with health testing dogs and bitches who are bred will be monitored thru the AKC stud book beginning with first litters produced after January 1, 2011 as compared to the OFA database.
