The petition

The U.S. isn't even in the top 10 in global broadband usage - and it's falling more behind every day. Students, workers, the underserved, small businesses... in rural and urban areas, the lack of affordable, high-speed Internet access is keeping them from benefiting from the global Information Society. What we need is a National Broadband Strategy that defines Internet access as a basic need. Send a message to the next President of the United States. We need a National Broadband Strategy, and the presidential candidates need to help define it.
