Name: Mark Tsigounis on May 15, 2009Comments: Moving from boston to newburyport where there have been a couple of recent installations of dog parks. They have become a focal point for community buzz and encourages responsible dog ownership just to name a few. There are substantial positive impacts for all parties.Flag

Name: Joel Rusnak on Apr 28, 2010Comments: Newburyport needs a proper dog park! It would be a great benefit to all. The park should have the proper amenities,...A FENCED area split in two sections...one for bigger, one for smaller dogs, a trash can, a bag dispenser and a water fountain/bowl would be great,Flag

Name: Marcia Woodard on May 10, 2010Comments: I would love to help. I am new to the area, retired and have time to get involved with the effort to establish a dog park in Newburyport. I just moved back to the area after six years in Boulder, Co. where in addition to the many local hiking trails that allowed my dogs to hike off leash, there was also a wonderful dog park (even with a water feature). I guess my dog and I are both a little spoiled and really missing having a place for him to run free and have the social interaction a park offers. Please contact me with any ways I can help in the effort.Flag

Name: Ian Popken on May 19, 2010Comments: Cashman Park is an ideal location as it is now accessible by the rail trail. March's Hill is not suitable as it is swampy and would interfere as a favorite snow sledding location in the winter for children.Flag

Name: Mark Laford on Jul 15, 2010Comments: Newburyport needs to get with the times. Due to the lack of room between people's homes, dogs need an "off leash" environment watched over by responsible dog owners. Newburyport needs to address "off leash" parks as soon as possible. Dog owners vote and pay taxes. The lack of opportunity in Newburyport for dog owners to allow their pets off the leash is akin to animal cruelty overseen by the City of Newburyport.Flag
