Name: Jay Hoh on Jan 15, 2013Comments: Just a note: This petition follows a 5 month effort that included a rider survey in which 95% of 50+ Seniors said that they did not mind competing against 40+ Masters in a single class. 93% of those surveyed preferred paying two sanctioning fees rather than have split classes/split paybacks. Our club asked for approval of show with IBRA sanction fees refunded to NBHA members who requested it. Then NBHA changed the rule to absolutely no co-sanctioning. Then they got so much heat they made it a regional director decision - strange for a national organization. But our regional director produces big shows that compete with our shows only hours away, so, BINGO, no co-sanctioning allowed in our region. Conflict of interest, perhaps? Just hoping that they live up to the second line of their rulebook: "Our goals are to increase the number of participants, improve the quality of shows and enhance the image of barrel racing."Flag

Name: Jayma Jo Shomaker on Jan 15, 2013Comments: I didnt renew my NBHA membership because I cant run at co-santioned shows. Why would an organization that is supposed to be trying to make the sport of barrel racing better hurt/limit so many of its members. With the way the economy and fuel prices are, having a co-santioned show only makes since. NBHA needs to realize that they are not the only organization available to the barrel racers and the regional directors that have prohibited the co-santions need to realize they are not god!Flag

Name: Sandra A Brewer on Jan 16, 2013Comments: I belong to a small district with minimal arenas available to us. We have been able to co-sanction with other association which allows us to draw a larger participant entry. Many of the barrel racers belong to numerous associations and by allowing co-sanctioning, they can continue to run for points and not have to choose. In this time of economic variance, we are not able to travel and spend the money on fuel like we use to. Allowing co-sanctioning between associations and committees, helps the pocketbook and continues to promote everyone. If the problem is sanctioning fees, then derive a plan in which NBHA will always get something.Flag

Name: Lynde L Doup on Jan 21, 2013Comments: I miss running NBHA. I was a memeber for 15 yrs and this yr is the first yr I am not running NBHA because NBHA is all about NBHA, they are not trying the work for the members or helping the horses out by just letting them run one time!!! I am from Indiana 04. Richard and Buffy Smith WAS our directors. They done an awesome job. we was one of IN's biggest group. Then Bob Hess ran everyone off and NBHA was not helping us out!!! Calls were made to the main office and messages were left and we never received a call back!!! We now run IBRA were they are all about working to make the shows larger and Praising GOD!!!!! I hope to see NBHA gets their shit together!!!Flag

Name: Cindy Davis on Jan 22, 2013Comments: New York State NBHA riders cannot run alone as NBHA- not big enough in this area and other closest NBHA is too far away to run. not financially feasible to only have NBHA without co-sanctioning. My granddaughter and i just joined last year. i will not renew until this is settled. Whoever made this new decision needs to come to our very rural area of NY and see how bad a decision they made. NBHA if this is only for NEW York and PA- very unfair. talk to your riders and the folks that are doing the driving at $4.50 a gallon for fuel! and 3-4 hours driving each way. not acceptable.Flag

Name: Susan Hargis on Jan 23, 2013Comments: I am the VA IBRA Director. My kids love to show at the NBHA youth world. I think it benefits both organizations for people to travel to one location and get points for both. This year because of the double entry fees I am seeing a lot of shows only support one organization. Its not only IBRA that it is effecting. I have approved IBRA shows that are not co-sanctioning with NBHA because of it.Flag
