Every other country has a National Women's Day, a day where the women are empowered and celebrated. Now, the holiday, originally called International Working Women’s Day, is an official one in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, China (for women only), Cuba, Georgia, Guinea-Bissau, Eritrea, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Madagascar (for women only), Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nepal (for women only), Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Zambia. Just not here in the good ole' USA. Why not may I ask? After all that we have overcame and achieved through hard work and dedication, do we not deserve a day to celebrate that we have come so far? I say that we get as many signatures as we can, and take it as far as possible until we receive the recognition that we deserve. They recognize women in the above mentioned countries, are we not appreciated as much here? We can do anything that we set our minds to, we did just have a woman run for president, we are allowed to do anything that a man can do, and we are responsible for carrying and caring for the children that will run our wonderful country tomorrow. Let us join the rest of the Nations in celebrating the woman, the hard working, caring, tenacious, amazing woman. Either the housewife or the executive, we have earned the right to join the ranks of women that are celebrated for our achievements!!
