Comments: The support of a National Initiative for Fire Safety. would save lives and reduce injuries from fire in the United States. A coordinated, nation wide campaign is needed to solve these problems.

Comments: It is unfortunate that too many people think that it is too costly to require any more fire safety/prevention systems in a home. WIth damage in the billions and loss of life in the thousands, I don't understand it. Fire and life safety needs to be addressed on a national level as the most costly disaster that occurs in this country.

Comments: I wholeheartedly support this initiative. The initiative needs to raise public awareness that fire safety begins at home and that parents/adults are ultimately responsible for fire safety in their home. They also need to understand that their children are most vulnerable to fire when they are asleep in their own beds. Fire safety training must occur at home and must be practiced for a lifetime. Fire safety professionals can not control what happens in the home environment and lessons learned by children can be negated by parents who fail to practice fire safety.
