| 4 | Katherine Schlosser | This short-sighted plan would have far-reaching implications, and be noticed and abhored by people across the country. |
| 5 | Anonymous | It is vital that you reconsider this devastating decision and reinstate the 2 million for the National Arboretum |
| 6 | Jane Muschamp | I urge you to support the funding of the full budget for the National Arboretum. Our Unit of the Herb Society of America has just given $ 1000 to help maintain the National Herb Garden within the National Arboretum. The government should do its part in supporting this important national treasure, too.
Thank you for your support.
Jane Muschamp, Corresponding Secretary
New York Unit of the Herb Society of America |

| 14 | Dorothy Bonitz | This news is grim and shattering, Somehow this budget proposal must not prevail! |
| 15 | Linda E. Brant | |
| 16 | Annette Hunt | Please restore the monies that you have cut from the budget for the National Arboretum. This could cause the spending of many more millions to restore the damage that you purpose to do. This would be very short sighted and costly on your part. |
| 17 | Joan & Charles Musser | The National Arboretum is a special treasure that is visited by thousands of US citizens and foreign visitors each year. For the prestige of The United States it is essential that the Arboretum be funded and well maintained. Please return the full financial support to the budget of the Arboretum. |

| 22 | Robert Taylor | Appalling! I'd like to find something possitive to say about the present government administration but it just makes a bigger mess with each passinf day.
A beautiful resource and national treasure as this must be given special and president proof protective status. It's one of the few places, I feel, that is presently worthy of my taxes. |

| 27 | Elizabeth W. Kennel | The National Arboretum, including the National Herb Garden, the Capitol Columns, and the Bonsai Collection, is a national treasure belonging to the people of America. Any funding cut that limits citizens' use of or access to this treasure should not even be considered. |

| 29 | Anonymous | It would be devistating to cut the budget for the National Arboretum. It is a great source of education and an oasis for so many thousands of people who visit. |

| 34 | Anonymous | I am a member of the Michiana Unit of The Herb Society of America. The President's budget cut could have a devastating effect on the US National Arboretum, as well as on gardeners, botanists, researchers and plant enthusiasts across the nation. |
| 35 | Mary Ann B. Wagner | This is just another example of taking away from wonderful treasured programs of our country being underfunded due to our highly expensive over extending involvement in the Middle East. |

| 37 | Elizabeth M Postell | I urgently add my name to this petition. The proposed cut is so short-sighted; it ignores the educational outreach of the National Arboretum. We have had so much feedback from Arboretum visitors who have found the National Herb Garden, for instance, to be the most interesting feature there, and a wonderful high spot to their visits to the nation's capitol. Hundreds of Herb Society of America members contributed to the making of this garden, and have been supposting it financially and by sponsorship of program ever since. They are voting citizens in every state of the union! |

| 42 | Sandra St. Mire | See what the present neocon administration has wrought with this war in Iraq costing trillions of dollars and we stand to lose gems like our National Arboretum. Unforgivable! Get out and VOTE people and send a message. |
| 43 | Chih Ho | National Aboretum is our national treasure and serves as educational functions and important to our national prides, I urge to continue to support the projects. |
| 44 | William M Swain | Sad indeed when a project of this magnitude is threatened by budget cuts, when so much money is spent foolishly. |

It is an oasis within our nation's capital! Please continue the Congressional mandate for both goals of the USNA, research and education. |
