Dear Fellow Americans, Recently I have be quite moved that the spirit of peaceful protest is alive and well in the United States of America. In my opinion, our right to peacefully protest is the greatest power we have in a democratic society; and when I think of which American citizen most exemplifies this, I think of Rosa Parks. She manifested a tremendous amount of courage one day, and that act of resilience helped propel the signing of the Civil Rights Act in 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Non-violent protest is act of a warrior, and I honestly believe that we as Americans need to take a moment and remember the power of solidarity, peace, and non-violent civil disobedience. For theses reasons, I propose that the United States of America's government create a national day of remembrance for Rosa Parks. If you agree, please sign this petition and share this message with others. Sincerely, Ama Birch
