Comments: I flew in from Cleveland to shop the show. I was last there ten years ago and it was the best show I have ever been to. This year was a huge disapointment. I will not be back unless this show is consolidated to three big shows again. Paying $75.00 to shop the Fiddlers show on Wednesday and Thursday was a joke, I have never felt so ripped off in my life for an early buyers event. It will die if you don't fix it.

Comments: There is a lot of truth in this petition...for those of us who have to travel 20+ hours to get to the show, we are now having to revisit the viability for our continued involvement.

Comments: We very much appreciate the discussion fostered by this petition. The commentary received so far is a powerful statement and I hope to receive more feedback as news of this petition spreads. A successful show requires 4 critical elements that must function correctly - Dealers, Customers, Management, Facility. Love to discuss the potential the future holds in Nashville with any willing parties (dealers, customers, management, facility). For those of you who have signed, thanks for demonstrating a commitment to a better future. Please forward this petition to customers and other dealers as well.

Comments: We attended both weekends, which is both tiring and difficult at best. We felt that the Heart of Country has declined and only encourage the high end prices that most folks can't afford during these times. The Fiddler's show was almost non existent. Took about an hour to visit each room. The Music Valley and Tailgate shows were by far the best. They had friendly dealers with reasonably priced items. Just what everyone looks forward to. We bought things only at the fairgrounds.

Comments: We drove 2.5 hours to get to the Tailgate show this year, and were very disappointed that we could not get into Music Valley until 6:00 pm. We had to leave, therefore, we missed this one. If I were a vendor, I would be upset that I missed customers who may not have stayed around long enough to see both shows. Anyone who visits one show will go to both, so why not have the same hours on all?

Comments: Please have all shows together. Spring to me the shows in Nashville, it is just not the same with the just the 2 Jenkins shows. We have chosen to go to the Jenkins shows just because there were more dealers and we can only afford to take a couple of days off. Unfortunately more doesn't always mean that you will find something to buy and the last 2 years we have been disappointed.

Comments: I do not know the history of the controversy but I do know that the current admission price to Tailgate/Music Valley definitely curtails my spending. I don't think that is fair to the dealers or to me. I did not attend in February because I had attended in October and couldn't justify the expense again. Please consider...

Comments: This was my first time to attend Tailgate & Music Valley and thoroughly enjoyed the show. I would have loved to attend Heart of Country but time only allowed me one weekend trip as I traveled from northern Illinois. Putting the three shows back together would create the ultimate antiquing experience!

Comments: I whole heartedly agree! I have missed the last 2 shows in Feb., after attending for about 10+ years, but frankly, felt that I probably didn't miss that much after seeing how it played out after splitting up. It's just not the same...the prestige & information found at Heart of the Country perfectly complemented the relaxed fun & excitement of Tailgate & Music Valley. I loved them all! For me, not only were they fun, but they were convenient. I just don't feel the pull that I used to feel to attend every year...

Comments: It is obvious from the very small crowd attending the recent event at the Fairgrounds, that separating the Tailgate & Music Valley shows from Heart of the Country show may ultimately lead to the failure of both with the diminished demand for antiques and poor economy.

Comments: I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments so well expressed in the letter. Although only a collector (and not a dealer) for the last 10 years, I realize the value of having all three shows simultaneously. I travel from Florida for this one "show" (although actually 2) and do not return for what has now become a 3rd show. How everyone loses when dealers are not able to purchase from each other and the collector misses on the opportunity to not attend a show like the Heart of Country. I definitely agree, we ALL lose. Especially in this day of an economic downtourn, get over hurt feelings (or whatever) and compromise to have these three distinct and wonderful shows back together. Whatever it takes to do so will make everyone a winner.

Comments: I live in knoxville and will only travel over to Nashville for Antiques when there is a large enough venue to warrant the trip. Having 2-3 shows all on the same dates just makes sense from a buyers perspective. It will also increase the gate from a sellers perspective so everyone should benefit.

Comments: We have enjoyed an annual trek to Nashville for a weekend of antique shows since l981, spending one day at Heart of Country and another at Tailgate and Music Valley. It simply has not been the same since the decision was made to have the events at different times. We agree that coordination of the three shows would benefit not only the dealers, but the patrons as well.

Comments: Hello I am the customer in the equation and it is an equation and for the balance sheet to work all things have to be summed up. I have come a s acustomer to the Nashville shows for 20+ years. I live close but I had 5-6 friends come from all over the country every year stay at my house and we had a huge reunion and party over the event when it was all together and consistently on the same weekend. Over the years we have spent $1000's of dollars collectively. There was nothing like the excitement of coming off the exit and turning the corner to see Fiddlers all stack out it's finery, the quilts hanging from rails the furniture all laid out in the parking lot, my heart raced and stomach flopped with excitement, 3 day sof fun and discovery of what was the next corner or room going to have. We shopped till we dropped each day. We would discuss each night our strategy for the next day what we needed to go see and what we were thinking about buying, etc. My friends haven't come since it has been split up you lost 5-6 customers right there. They can't take multiple weeks off work and cost of multiple trips. I am local so I have come but been hugely disappointed in my regular dealers not attending or not being in the same place. This year I bought NOTHING at any event, It just was too disappointing and lacked the specatular. Next year I am not sure if I will even come, Heart was naked and small and not worth the money for the entrance. PLEASE PUT THEM BACK together and in close proximity to each other! And put them in Nashville. Don't move somewhere else.

Comments: I agree completely. I have attended the tailgate show for approximately 10 years, and since it has split, there are fewer dealers and seems less enthusiasm. This is an event that my girlfriend and I look forward to every year because there are so many primitives in one place. We also spend a great deal of money as we save for it from one year to the next. Please put it back together. Sometimes change is not always a good thing, and if it worked before, it will work again. Thank you for your attention. Sandy Brown

Comments: I agree with all thats been said. Nashville needs this even. The sky should be the limit. With every promoter and dealer pulling for the good of the Antique and collectables industry This should be one of the biggest and best, and a show that shoppers are excited about and can hardly wait for it to come around each time. I am a dealer i do not do a show in Tenn but i go to the tailgate show and heart of country. I live in Carthage Tn. I do the Round top texas show and there is a lesson for who ever needs it. Shoppers are excited about the show and dealers show thier appreciation by being VERY friendly and they have all kinds of activitys for the shoppers during the shows !!!!!!!!! I just want the Nashville show to be GREAT !!!!!!!!!! Thanks Gary

Comments: Enjoyed the show this year , but missed the fun of the hunt when the show was at the "motel". I loved going room to room. I felt like I was getting a really search for things and that is certainly part of the fun. This year (I didn't attend last year) it seemed too "stuffy".

Comments: I did not attend this years show due to the high entrance fee. I know the show operators have to make a profit but I think that $15 is a lot more than many people are willing to pay (plus parking fees). Your dealers can't sell their products if the customers don't come thru the doors. Your show is the only decent show in Nashville so I normally go anyway but with the economy the way it is it just seemed like too much this year.

We liked that you offered food in the lobby so we didn't have to go out in the bad weather to get something to eat. The fairgrounds leave alot to be desired.

Comments: I have friends that come in from out of town to do all 3 shows in one fell swoop. When you pull it apart, I am less likely to do all of them. I just pick one and swing by for a few hours. Then don't do the others. The "Trifecta" was a big draw for me. Do I shop at all 3 ? Actually, yes I have. Thanks Gail Henry

Comments: We did the firsr Heart which was held at the fairgrounds. The original tailgate was held in the stables outside. It was a really cold day and I rember dealers pearing out of a bundle of packing blankets asking to serve us. We followed Heart to the Opryland Hotel and continued there for years. We no longer participate in shows, simply use them as our primary buying source. Most recently, we have found that the selection, dealer list, and pricing were best met, for us, at the tailgate shows. We recently returned from one and found that we spent nearly twice our budget! To stay in business, we need a viable source. The tailgate show has become that source for us.

Comments: I put together a trip to one of the nashville shows to attend and also visit a little of nashville.the show was a total waste of my time and the dealers time as I had to pay almost 20 bucks apiece to get in and one of the first "antiques" i saw was a saw blade with bars welded with bottles on it for 145.00 and if this was an antique then i have been totally misinformed and to think i paid 80 bucks for us to get i n to this show i swore i would never even stop any place about antiques in nashville so if my sentiments are echoed by any one .I was totally ashamed of any of the antique dealers that paid to have a booth in that show. If you do not weed out crafts and bored people with a handsaw then the shows will fail.

They want them back together so they don't have to choose which one to come to since they are only 1 week apart anyway.
