NASCAR switches between networks several times every season, but ever since they began to go to ESPN, a cable channel, for some races late in the season ratings have dropped. There are many people who do not have access to cable channels, which we believe is a major reason that the ratings for these races fall. When the race is broadcast back on ABC, ratings jump back up. For the race at Texas Motor Speedway held Sunday, November 7, 2010, which was broadcast on ESPN, ESPN reported 2.9 for their rating. One year previous, the race was broadcast on ABC. For that race, the rating was 3.7. All NASCAR fans would like the opportunity to watch all races throughout the season, but as long these races are broadcast on cable channels, some won't be able to. We, the undersigned, are some of the many supporters of all NASCAR being broadcast on basic, non-cable channels.
