Do Not Ban Smoking on Beaches and in Parks

The city council of Naples, FL is attempting to ban smoking on all public beaches and parks. Even though all beaches and parks in Naples are very well maintained and there is no pollution problem in the city. The community cleans up after itself and smoking in public places should not be an initiative during such a time of economic stress. Smoking is a health hazard and second hand smoke, besides behind discourteous, is unhealthy. But smoking is also a legal right given to everyone of legal age. On public land they are given that right to do so freely, without penalty. Taking away that right on public land begins to encroach on a civil liberty. That is why i ask you to sign this petition to ask the city of Naples not to go forth with the smoking ban on public land.
