| 252 | Giuseppe Lacatena | a few more points:
* it isa worldwide issue. I got mine in Russia, and reading forums u can find the same complain in at least 5 continents. Not sure about Antarctica.
* moneywise, it is an icredibly high cost for everybody, from the end user to the dealer to the reseller. Let's start charging the board's manufacturer, say, 10 dollars per hour of our "unqualified" labour of troubleshooting, 25 for each hour of lost sleep plus the actual value productivity loss, depending on our respective jobs. Wanna bet each one of us could charge the manufacturer a MINIMUM of 500 dollars? Think, how many of us had to take a day off at work because of this stupid chip?
I'd love to see Asus suing n'Vidia and offering a replacement for the board, no question asked, just dump in the bin and get a new OEM board, just the board, the manual and the driver, non cables neede, we got them already. |
| 253 | Tank Manbob | I've had a series of problems with DDR2 ram errors, and can't get PowerDVD 5 to run in Windows XP Pro.
Asus P5N32-SLI |
| 254 | Jack Tin | Damn it! 300+ buck per mb and now it can't support chips from 1 year in future! u suck! |
| 255 | Daniel Silveira | This thing is NOT CHEAP... they cant do something like that and get away from it... |
| 256 | Anonymous | I have Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 board and even on the box Gigabyte promised it would operate at speeds not yet capable with the NVIDIA 680i chipset.
But nothing has been done to resolve this. I hate spending so much money as most of us have on a motherboard and having it become obsolete within a year and not working the way it was promised to!!
If this is not rectified, never again will i buy a Gigabyte product and never again will I trust NVIDIA. Both theses company's sure know how to piss off there customer's. |

500 GB WD Sata II HD
Geforce 7200 GS 512 MB
Enermax 600W
- I can not get this system to even post. Ive tried multiple configurations, seen every error message that lcd display can display, no luck. Poor support from asus in the error department. I CANT GET TO THE BIOS! |
| 264 | Michael Foster | Why would you produce a product that has limited futureproofing such as the 680i? Shame! Shame! Shame! |
| 265 | eklock2000 | This mainly sux because nVidia said that penryn's would work with 680i |
| 266 | Brian Toney | Any chance of offering a refund? Ive been down for 2 weeks RMA'ing this board. It never even powered up out of the box. Retailer wont offer refund, only exact replacement, $200.00 wasted. |
| 267 | Jean-michel Bourdé | Tomorrow (15 december) i will get the qx9650 i was
expecting to work on my striker extreme.
I am so disappointed, i am running sli with 2 8800gtx.
Don't know if it is intel or nvidia fault, but for me the
result is the same....... |

| 274 | Anonymous | If I sold food as fit for human consumption & It turned out not to be (especially if I had pre-knowledge of the fact) I, quite rightly, would be taken to court & either very heavily fined or sent to prison.
If Hi-tech companies rush to put out unproven gear just to score points against their opposition - they should face the same penalties.
nVidia has lied; & they know they have; & they continue to tell the lie.
Justice must be seen to be fair & equal. |
| 275 | TheBeagle | I was one of the first persons to buy a Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 board when they were released. As it turns out, that motherboard was a SEVERE DISAPPOINTMENT since It could not live up to its advertised capabilities. The inability to work in an overclock fashion with the latest run (G0) of Quad-Core processors is disgraceful. Gigabyte you owe your customers better support than that! You sold us all a "TURKEY." Now do the right and honorable thing (like some of the board makers have done) and take back these defective boards and provide the buyers with a comparable product, or refund their purchase price. Are you honorable men and women Gigabyte - or just a dressed up version of corporate thieves? |

| 277 | Cyber Zyg Pty Ltd | I own the Gigabyte GA-N680SLI-DQ6 board and a MSI P6N Diamond, both promised to operate at speeds not yet capable with the NVIDIA 680i chipset. I did not get what I paid for and nothing has been done to resolve this. Still Waiting!! |

| 280 | Ryan | Probably the worst $400 ive spent on a piece of computer equipment, not only does it not support my qx6800 but 2 channels of the motherboard didnt even work after 2 weeks of having it, and of course when i tried to get a replacement they have 'stopped' making them..
Replace it for a 780i board? haha yeah right as if they would do that |
| 281 | david w spare | cant believe it ... after spening lots of money on nvidia product thru the years my stricker board wont accept the new 45ns chips ... looks like a move away from your products if this happens |
| 282 | BRIAN | 3 RMA'S WITH STRIKER EXTREME. SENDING IN 4TH ONE FOR STRIKER 2 FORMULA 780I UPGRADE FROM ASUS AFTER DOING ENOUGH BITCHING. NVIDIA FUCKED UP WITH THE 680I HOPE 780I IS BETTER(ALTHOUGH ALMOST THE SAME). I SEE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!!! |
| 283 | James N Casper | I am for one on the list of having a $400.00 paperweight, to this day I am still trying to get my 680i MB to just be stable. This is an 8 month thorn in my side and demand satisfaction! |
| 284 | Anonymous | Asus 680i ....board of the future. |
| 285 | Anonymous | I have an MSI MB with a 680i chipset. Hangs all the time and now my graphics card don't send any signal... |

| 289 | Drew Greenwell | waiting for my 4th motherboard in 6 weeks from evga to be next day aired to me, All motherboards i have received have bad memory controllers causing them to not boot when in any type of dual channel configuration. or with any stick at all in only Dimm 1 or 3

My Asus Striker Extreme and QX9650 are waiting! |
| 293 | Anonymous | Memory controller issues on each of three mobos since day one. Dick move, Nvidia. |
| 294 | Justin Maddocks | I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. |
| 295 | Jason | Have had nothing but problems with this motherboard. Sata devices have never worked right. BIOS would sometimes reset to defaults completely on it's own. My single Sata Raid array with two drives once turned into two separate arrays with one drive on each array. Explain how that happens on it's own?!
Also, have had 3 different video cards which all suffer blue screens frequently. 2X 7900GS, 8800GTS. I suspect the board is the culprit.
One word describes this product, disappointing. |

| 298 | Nikhil | |
| 299 | Chris Leamon | I am currently on my 3rd board and am still having problems. Keyboard and mouse not working right, USB causing no boots. I have spent allot of money replacing ram, CPU, GPU, and PSU to resolve these issues to no avail. |
