I've bought this beautiful motherboard month ago, but since today can't see DVD, because PowerDVD can't be installed in my WinXP Pro. I see only one reason of it: "Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus"! I CAN'T INSTALL DRIVERS FOR THIS DEVICE!! Why so?? No one site.. Asus, nVidia - do not provide me real working drivers...
This is really bad! I thought all my live that ASUS is the finest company who makes the best motherboards and nVidia CARDS also best in a world. |

The drivers introduced need to best tested 100% in all areas and scenarios.
Overclocking? Huh! What a joke!
Can't overclock the memory timings or the megahertz pass 800mhz and my OCZ Reaper HPC is rated at 1142mhz, what a waste!
Can't set the FSB on the QX6700, bios 1305 won't let you!
You can only set the multplier to 12 and no higher in bios 1305.
Where do i go to get a refund? This board, bios and chipset are a joke so far!

| 107 | chuck watson | i purchased mobo when it first came out. i also purchased the dominator memory 64003cdf. it ran fine for a about a month. since then i have rmaed it 3 times. i aslo rmaed the memory as well. i feel for the amount of money i paid for this mobo i shouldnt have to go thru all this trouble.i was not trying to overclock the board just to run it stock.i just feel i have been taking advantaged of by a big manufacturer who could care less about the lil guy or end-user. if nvidia is a true provider of satisfaction they will do something to correct this. i dont want my money back. i just want a motherboard that pewrforms like it was advertised. example in bios sli enabled and all the other bells and whistles i cant even use them? i must run unlinked etc etc. the purpose of me buying the thing was to use them or i would have gotten a way cheaper board and not sunk 450.00 into a stressful thing as the striker.ty |

| 110 | Anonymous | I brought the ASUS Striker Extreme with the 680i chipset. I found the 680i chipset is very weak on overclocking and overheated very easily, which is the opposite of what nvidia claims. I would never buy any mainboard with nVidia chipset unless nVidia fix my Striker. |

I purchase striker extreme and I faced problems LIKE:
1. Installing win VISTA on RAID.
2. Drivers on win VISTA.
every day I go to nVidia site to see if there are any updated drivers, or at least BETA.
BUT I think 680i drivers is not supported not any more, because the last update was in 2006, this mean one of two things,
1. there are no BUG on the software, so the BUGS on chipset.
2. the support team is dead ( be in peace), that cos no update from 1.5 years.
thats what I have to say, and I am waiting reply if there are not DEAD. |

| 118 | Walid Boonprasit | I have evga 680i SLI A1 board. This board some how kills my ram. I'm running on my RMA board with 2nd ram memory. I have my ram at manufacture spec volt at 2.2 1066mhz and 5-5-5-15. My ram model is corsair dominator. The first ram die after about 2 month. Both sticks die, then I got my 2nd batch and die too. Figure out that the board is some how killing by over voltingthe ram.

We recived 2 defective boards in a roll in just the last 2 weeks, one doa and the second with the c1 memory controller falure. The motherboard 6 months in has network issues as well. Says Quad core is supported, however it is not, the multiplier on quadcores frequently changes due to inherent defects nvidia fails to acknowledge. |

There are many issues with the board and even with updates there are some instabilities including sometimes windows media player freezing up and screen going black while sound is still going, since screen is black i cant seem to get into taskmanager or even ctrl+alt+del. I personally have an asus striker extreme and would hope that nvidia should stand up for a product that never had enough testing. It is like running software thats @ an alpha or beta stage. |
