My petition is for all people suffering lymphedema whether it is primary or secondary. Cancer patients who suffer from lymphedema after surgery receive the highest criteria of care than people with primary lymphedema. Cancer patients' lymph are secondary lymphedema which occurs after breast cancer surgery. The information provided in the UK is insufficient for care of primary lymphedema. The care by GP's are insuffient. Lymphedema is a disability that without early care and attention can lead to huge problems for the person. Primary Lymphedema is due to insuffient lymph vessels to drain away the lymph fluid within the body. A person is born with the condition. This can cause infection or toxins to remain in the system, the person's limb swollen and progressive continues to enlarge and swell. This is irreversable but early treatment can control it.

There is failure by GPs and hospitals alike after diagnosis to assist patients with the right compression (bandaging), compression socks, lymph massage, information about avoiding infection and many more. It is not recognised as a disability but it is. Attack of cellulitis is critically dangerous.
I write this petition as a sufferer of primary lymphedema for 36yrs who has only after much desperate search found that a clinic had opened 2 yrs in my local area. My doctor surgery did not inform me. I had to ask for my own referral and at no time ever received due attention or care for this condition.
Please sign my petition to inform GPs and Hospitals in the UK to acknowledge primary lymphedema as a medical condition that requires major early ongoing treatment. It is a disability UNRECOGNISED.  Please support lymphedema sufferers.
I will be sending this to the UK Health Minister.
