Comments: We need to look at other options, like schedule changes, year-round calender, etc. Any kids already at Creekside should be 'grandfathered' in if redistricting is unavoidable.

Comments: I would hope that DPS will learn from the mistakes of Wake County. Redistricting a school with a very strong sense of community is a big mistake. I voted for the bond becuase it included funds to expand Creekside.

Comments: Redistricting is a small band-aid on the larger problem of unhampered growth in our area of the county without any regard to infrastructure. Any school that our children would be redistricted into (likely Parkwood) is already well over capacity in the first place. When Creekside was built 4 years ago, Parkwood also absorbed the attendance zone for Pearsontown simultaneously, so the numbers did not drop significantly. Creekside's classroom expansion (funded by the bonds) needs to happen as soon as possible, and it would help immensely to put a traffic light at Farrington and Ephesus Church roads.

Comments: Redistricting is not the answer to overcrowding. Redistricting only distributes the problem elsewhere. Only new construction like that passed in the recent bond issue will SOLVE the problem.

Comments: I am outraged that the city council has no issue approving new development after new development irrespective of the impact to our water supply, our schools and the infrastructure of our city. Developers are making a fortune at the expense of our children and our environment and we are paying the bill. No new developments, strip malls, Harris Teeters, etc. until we resolve the overcrowding in the schools with more new schools and enlargements of existing schools. Re-districting to already crowded spaces is not the answer. No developer should dig one hole or lay one brick until new schools are built.

Comments: As a parent to 3 children, one of which has special needs, I am overwhelmed at the prospect of having them moved to other schools, which also are already overcrowded. We have created an elementary school to be proud of and moving our kids around every year to accommodate the growth in our area is NOT the solution. PLEASE RECONSIDER!!
