Tablature is great for learning to play songs without having to learn
sheet music. With pressure from the MPA and sheet music organisations Mxtabs, one of the greatest tab resources was forced to close despite over $3000 per month in sales of licensed sheet music via their links.
The RIAA and MPA have made a foul dirty move. Not only does it appear that they are nothing more than money grabbing, corporate fools but, also that they know nothing about the industry.
The industry needs free tabulature to stay alive, without it all new musicians will quickly get bored and never return to it again.
The educational value of it is also great and some courses rely on tabulature to educate their pupils.
Please if you read this and care about music I hope you will understand the importance of this petition. If they are banning free tabulature where will they stop Will they ban you from singing songs in the shower
This petition will be sent to both the MPA and RIAA once enough signatures have been recieved and hopefully will let MX Tabs and other free tab sites continue peacefully.
