Name: Dr. Lawrence Kent on Jun 11, 2007Comments: Parochialism and turf protection retards the progressive future of the Greater Dayton Region. Small-minded thinking represents the past. The 1.6 million people of this 8-county area deserve the multiple benefits inherent to regional governance. Let's get on with the future! -Dr. Kent 11 Jun 07Flag

Name: Robert Bush on Jun 13, 2007Comments: Northern Warren County and Springfield should be taken into consideration as well. There is a uninterrupted urban area between Dayton and Springfield, and Springfield and Dayton are both heavily dependent on WPAFB, which is in this intermediate area. I think that most of the people in the Franklin/Springboro area identify a little more with Dayton than Cincinnati even though they are classified as being a part if the Cincinnati SMSA, and are certainly impacted by many of the same initiatives, such as the Austin Pike interchange, the expansion of Sinclair into Warren County, upgrades to I-75, and so on.Flag

Name: David Esrati on Jun 14, 2007Comments: Why not just go all the way- make Dayton, Dayton- and match up with Montgomery County borders- or better yet- include Greene County too.Flag

Name: Gary Victor on Jun 16, 2007Comments: I fully support this measure, as the greater Dayton area desperately needs to embrace regional cooperation. Each community in this region cannot go alone, and the survival of this greater community will depend on regional cooperation and joint partnerships.Flag

Name: Victoria Burke on Jul 10, 2007Comments: I know that NYC is an example of a region that set an example. It would be a mess now if steps hadn't been taken long ago. (Brooklyn was a city in its own right e.g.) The greater Dayton is now a jumble of small competing entities that want to avoid responsibility and keep the best. We need a rational overall plan more than ever due to economic and global warming concerns.Flag
