Name: Anonymous on Mar 12, 2008Comments: Recently, CBC decided not to renew the TV series MVP, much to the dismay of their growing fan base. Apparently, the reason was that the show was not up to their standards whatever that means. MVP had the unfortunate time slot of Friday evening initially and then it got switched to the Tuesday time slot, competing with the blockbuster hit American Idol on Fox. Unfortunately, MVP is judged by the archaic Nielsen rating system, which doesnt reflect the younger generations use of new media, e.g., downloads and views of episodes from the Internet. For the first time, CBC had attracted a large, much younger audience because of MVP but they are throwing it all away by not renewing the show. It doesnt make any sense. Many fans feel that CBCs cancellation of MVP would be Globals gain, especially since the show is now starting to gain momentum reflected in the interesting character developments and edgy episodic plots. They have a great production crew in ScreenDoor and a fantastic, dedicated cast who gains more fans with each episode. Many wonder what happens behind the scenes of the high-pressure hockey world and this show explores the characters lives with grace, humility, intensity and sometimes brutal honesty. Just as the interaction among the characters is heating up priming us for Season 2, the fans find out that MVP wont be renewed. Is this pump and dump TV programming Where is the justice I believe that MVP is a far better fit for GlobalTV anyway because the network is more current and Global listens to its viewers feedback and considers what they want. After MVP was advertised on ET Canada for the cast party, I noticed the viewer audience numbers went up for the following episode. Thats the power of ET Canada and MVP. You will make a lot of existing and future fans very happy if you were to acquire the rights to air MVP. I heard that Season 2 is even more intense than Season 1. Also, I am a writer (magazine, web content) and graphic designer where Ive worked in both industries extensively. I have some ideas of starting forum discussions on characters, plots, etc. like theyve done with the LOST board which is a huge success. Having live chats with the onscreen actors so people can interact with them would bring even more popularity to the show and their website. This is the way to keep the MVP community happy, refreshed and wanting more. Please consider taking MVP on for your network viewers. You wont be disappointed and neither will the growing fan base of MVP.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 12, 2008Comments: This was a great show and I was sorry to see it end with so many unresolved cliff hangers. It wasn't given enough time, it had a great cast (many of whom were just coming into their own as characters) and it should continue on somewhere. CBC - another awful decision in a long line of awful decisions (Sophie - really). Global - please pick it up! Go Global and congrats to everyone who worked on this show - great job!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 12, 2008Comments: This is an absolutely amazing show...it just needs to have better advertising/promoting. I only watched the second last show and loved it and went on to watch the entire season online. From what i've heard the ratings are increasing..it just needs another fair shot.Flag
