Name: Emily Shooter on Apr 24, 2003Comments: I think that teachers should be able to teach both evolution and creation because not allowing kids to hear both is just wrong. Yes, creation is religious, but the students don't have to believe it if they feel that strongly about it. And on top of that if a teacher of any kind only teaches half of something, don't they get in trouble by the school board or whatever Only teaching evolution is basically the same thing. No body really knows how we got here, not even the scientists know for sure. Evolution is just a theroy just like creativity which is also a theroy. It's like teaching two different ways of any other subject-example could be if a teacher wanted to teach addition two different ways and some parent didn't want there kid thinking that way on how to do math. Silly, isn't it But let's face it, it's the same thing! All the teacher wants to do is give kids another prospective. And if that's considered wrong in our society then maybe we need to think things over...and over again. Only teaching evolution is practially brain washing kids into believing that God had nothing to do with the development of Earth.Flag

If students are going to learn about "creation", then the teachers should cover every theory. Not just one of them. I know it would have made this topic more interesting for me when my science teacher was covering it in the eighth grade.Flag

It is a right all students should have to challenge a controversial issue that is being taught. Censoring opposing views in any subject is contradicting our freedom that is given in this country.Flag

This would give kids more than one view on how the earth and all other living things was made. It is considered to be another theory, just like evolution.Flag
