We are
requesting Chief & Council to consent to the ballots be released to the
Appellants for examination before resuming the Election Appeal on January 15,
2013: (Election Appeal of the February 13, 2012 band election)<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
1.) The
Appellants believe the lack of secured ballot boxes during the election process
has allowed someone to introduce and/or replace valid ballots with foreign ballots
to into the voting system;
2.) The
absence of Ballot Account by the Chief Electoral Officer has compromised the
integrity of the voting system; the Ballot Account is one of the steps required
by designed as a check and balance to safeguard the voting system;
3.) Now the
only safeguard is to examine each ballot for ballot authenticity by checking
for the Deputy’s initials, if the Deputy’s initial exist authentic ballot and
if no initials exist than foreign ballot.
We, the
undersigned, request the Chief & Council to authorize their legal counsel
to inform the Appeal Tribunal that they consent to the release of the ballots
before resuming the Appeal hearing on January 15, 2013. This early consent in
writing to the Appeal Tribunal will allow time for examination of the ballots
and eliminate any further delays of the Appeal hearing.
