STANDING UP FOR FILMMAKERS WORKING IN THE MUSIC VIDEO INDUSTRY

The UKMVPA is a newly found non profit organisation representing the interests of music video production companies, producers and directors.

Our first mission is to establish a system of royalties to be paid to music video creators, for the exploitation of their work. Please sign the petition below and support your right for royalties.

Currently it is common industry practice for record labels not to pay any percentage of the revenue from advertised online viewing (such as Vevo), broadcast (such as VPL), digital sales (such as Itunes) and other revenue streams that are directly connected to music video. We believe that this is unfair and the music video creators should receive royalties for the exploitation of their work. Today consumers very much regard the Music Video as the product they want, not just the song alone. Paying a royalty to the creators of music videos as is the standard in film, television and music is fair.

In order to demand this royalty, we believe music video creators must work together in a united cause for fair pay. We are inviting you/your organization to sign the petition below so that we can present our proposal to the music industry, broadcasters, and  . Once we have backing from the majority of leading music video production companies, we may present our case formally to the major and independent record labels. Please sign up for the petition below and support your right for royalties.
