Anna Allen | The decision to omit multihulls from the 2012 Olympics is ridiculous. In my view and I'm sure many others', multihulls are infinitely more exhilarating to sail and watch as a sport than monohulls. I was very excited about spectating at Weymouth but I shan't bother if multihulls aren't included. I would not have been involved in sailing for the past 15 years were it not for catamarans, as I find monohulls boring to sail.

Belinda Hayward | Multihulls, in particular Hobies, are one of biggest classes in the world enjoyed by thousands both competitively and for fun. It seems crazy to cut out such a popular and competitive class from Olympics. Are we going back to the stone-age?
Bernard Simonis |
Christy Hunter | This proposed removal of catamarans from the olympics is a disgrace and totally unreflective of what is happening in sailing shame on those who peoposed such a measure. Perhaps they would like to explain their point of view to our young olimpians training on the Hobie 16's which is afterall the most poular catamaran in the world.

james parrott | the decision alienates a very large number of sailors and removes a visually exciting competition. imagine cycling dropping modern events in favour of the penny farthing.

rudi vaan velzen | why are they so full of nonsense why cant we all sail in peace
Karst Ytsma | The present high performance sailing developments also in the mono hull classes very much follows the same developments as we have seen in the Catamaran developments over the last two decenia. Catamaran sailing is therefore one of the leaders in the development of sailing and can therefore not be missed in the olympics. The old boys mono hull network should recomsider their decision.

Martin Damhuis | Multihulls should compete at the olympics! Please have as much variety in the sailing event as possible, and have all the four sailing disciplines present.
