    Comments: Our fore fathers to this old world community are probably rolling over in their graves. Please be considerate to the adjacent neighbors on the Country Club Gardens side of Crestline Village. We don't want sky scrapers in our backyards nor would you if you lived here. Please keep the present zoning, professional or town homes. The architectural vision needs to be very carefully decided upon, like Robert Jemison planned originally for this English styled community to be. The flat roof tops need to blend in with the neighborhood, attention to correctly scaled parapets so roof top AC units, etc. won't be visible. Please remember the noise pollution that this is going to create, the more litter in and around our village which needs to be attended to all day long by the city going around all the nooks and crannies, beds, gutters in alleys and parking lots, etc., the need for more police and fire protection employees and larger fire trucks to accommodate the new buildings, an even more need for an ordinance to pick up after your pets, it's absolutely ridiculous that we have this problem, let's keep our villages clean! More than ever we will need a lot more green spaces to accommodate the new density to the village. We should consider Green projects of the utmost quality, that are so prevalent all over the U.S.A. Please think of our children, will they want to raise their family's in The City Of Mountain Brook, with what is slated.

    Comments: Mt. Brook blew it over the past 15 years regarding variances on private homes--allowing anything and everthing to be built. Now we have water flow problems that are outrageous. Let's not do it again! We all moved here for various reasons but surely one of them was the charm of the villages. If we allow too much building in them, we lose the charm that we love so much. Plus, the parking, etc. will get even worse than it is now! The dictionary defines a village as a group of houses in a rural area. If you don't want a house and a yard--DON'T LIVE IN A VILLAGE!

    Comments: A a retail shop on Country Club Park, as someone who grew up in Crestline Village, I am very much opposed to to what the Planning Commission is doing. If this passes, how long would our shop be closed due to construction!

    Comments: The process has been a lot of effort but it mainly seems to be aimed at promoting development. I think land use planning needs to be done but the result of this process seems a little off base. I would like parking and traffic flow improved, the nature of the villages kept similar to what it is now, and land use planning consistent with what we want the villages to be like rather than being driven by developers. I'm afraid the villages will end up like the eyesores that have gone up on residential properties through zoning variances.

    Comments: Too high, shouldn't be in the village. Why not "next to village (which we have now), which is just 10' further to walk. Too much density - right now, we are allowed 7 residences/acre for multi family. Gould Evans suggested 17 / acre. Members of the Steering Committee suggested 14 / acre. The Planning Commission is asking for 26 / acre.

    Comments: While not residents of Mountain Brook, but living in close proximity to the city's limits, our family frequents Mountain Brook's villages many times a day. We have been saddened by much of the more recent development in Mountain Brook Village and English Village because so much of it seems entirely out of character with the nature of the villages. Understanding that the pressure from developers and the lure of tax revenue make it difficult to set boundaries on development, it is extremely important that Mountain Brook city representatives do just that. The charm of the villages cannot survive over-development - especially in the form of massive structures which are far out of scale with the original buildings in each village. Please set stringent limits on development in the villages of Mountain Brook. Protect the charm and unique character historically planned for these wonderful gems.
