I retired from a university service in October 2009. In the mean time pay scales of the employees were revised with a limit of rs.ten lacks on gratuity w.e.f Jan2006.The govt servants enjoy the benefit of full tax concession on the amount of gratuity. Such a benefit is available to other employees from April 2010. only. First the so called other category is discriminated against the Govt employees and secondly two categories of other employees have been made.
