MISSISSIPPI ATTEMPTED MURDER APPROVAL

359 Signatures Goal: 500

THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI DOESN'T HAVE A "ATTEMPTED MURDER" CHARGE. THIS IS A PETITION TO HAVE THE "ATTEMPTED MURDER" CHARGE APPROVED AND ENFORCED IN THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI. REASON FOR PETITION: ON FEBRUARY 16, 2008, ADAM THOMPSON ATTEMPTED TO RUN OVER BRIAN HAYNES WITH A MOTORIZED VEHICLE(PICKUP TRUCK). THOMPSON THEN SHOT HAYNES WITH A .38 CALIBER HANDGUN IN THE SIDE OF THE HEAD AT POINT BLANK RANGE OVER ALLEGED TRESPASSING. WE HAVE SHERRIFFS AND DEPUTIES FOR HANDLING TRESPASSERS. HAYNES WAS AN UNARMED MAN AND IS NOW FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE AT A MEMPHIS TRAUMA HOSPITAL. THOMPSON WAS CHARGED WITH "AGGRAVATED ASSAULT" AND BONDED OUT ON A $25,000 BOND($2,500). THIS IS DISJUSTICE! THIS IS NOT IN THE SAME CATEGORY AS HITTING SOMEONE WITH A BOTTLE OR BRASS KNUCKLES. WHEN ONE MAN SHOOTS AN UNARMED MAN IN THE HEAD, WHAT IS HE TRYING TO DO FIREARMS ARE DEADLY! IT'S NO SECRET, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT. ACCORDING TO FEDERAL CRIMINAL LAW AND OTHER STATES' LAWS, THIS CRIME RESEMBLES THAT OF "ATTEMPTED MURDER" VERY MUCH SO. THE "ATTEMPTED MURDER" LAW NEEDS TO BE IN EFFECT AND ENFORCED IMMEDIATELY. CRIMINALS WITH THE NATURE LIKE THOMPSON SHOULD BE KEPT FROM FIREARMS AND THE INNOCENCE OF SOCIETY FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE.
