Comments: The internet charges are ridiculous as well - 12 cents a megabyte! For the average part-time job-holding student, this is totally unjust.

Comments: We are paying a much higher rate compared to halls. Yet, the security here is almost non existant. You guys only clean the place every two weeks. The common room is so small. The pool table sucks. With the price I'm paying now, I could afford to stay in the city!

Comments: There is no way their costs are increasing at that rate. It's true. However the university is in debt and is using MRS to try and make some money to get it out of it. Its still wrong though. The university is aiming to make Halls of Residence for international students, who being already full fee paying, can afford the increasing rates. If this keeps up rural students like myself will find it hard to attend university.

Comments: Yes i agreed that the services offered and maintenance level is dropping. We have more problems this year compared to last year...first we have boiler room problem where the hot water in the shower room is not working....then we have heater not working during the winter....mess hall food price increase....despite all these the rent is still increasing...we don't mind paying extra but at least provide us with better services.

Comments: Took almost 2 months for maintenance to fix my broken window, over a year to fix one of our dryers, half a year to fix a microwave, not to mention the decrease in quality of cleaning services, and ridiculous Internet and phone connection fees at the start of each semester. Its no wonder this place is so disgusting and residents are starting to get anxious to get the hell out of here. Even last year was no where near as bad as this year, in just one year the quality of MRS services has decreased while the price has increased.

Comments: Spot on. I never knew these facts, but it seems MRS are way out of line with their rental charges. I strongly feel these rents should not rise in the future, thereby encouraging more students to reside at the halls.
