Name: Anonymous on Feb 9, 2010Comments: MRI tried to pursuade me to buy more more than one property despite my telling them I wished to stay within the limit of the money I had available. The prices and rental incomes quoted at their exhibitions and inspection trip were lies. They promised mortgages, independent legal advice but the companies turned out to be offshoots of MRI run by their ex directors or family. No mortgages were forthcoming. Aftersales services were offered as an incentive to purchase but then cancelled. They chased for furniture payment months in advance of completion but no furniture has been provided. They have arbitrarily withdrawn guaranteed rental which was a compulsory part of the sales contract for purchasers. They misled me that Act 15 was a completion when in fact the property was still not fit for habitation and needed Act 16 has not been granted well beyond the time scale allowed them in the contract. They have had roughly 39000 off me and havenow cancelled the contract leaving me with nothing.Flag

Name: Jamie WInder on Feb 9, 2010Comments: I was duped into handing over money inherited from my grandfather with stats and promises at the respected London Olympia. I was only 25 at the time, had no kind of investment experience, and asides this inheritance, was certainly not a wealthy man. I was naive and gullible, sure, but MRI took full advantage. This escapade cost me my inheritance, took most of 6 months wages in legal fees etc. and took almost 2 years of my life in grief and efforts in trying to retrieve what my grandfather had worked and saved hard for. I am now looking to open a small business and am struggling to find an unsecured startup loan to roughly the tune of what they took from me... Count the losses.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 9, 2010Comments: My parents and I have lost more than £65,000 (all our savings) on properties in Bulgaria that were either not built or were not built where we had been told they would be. The promises made to us at the point of sale were simply lies designed to get us to part with our money. I wish we had never heard of MRI.Flag

Now the scumbag is gainfully employed @ the non-profit 'DREAM CENTER' located in Sanford, FL., and is on the Board of Directors there! Amazing but TRUE! I wrote to Paul Benjamin, the President of the 'Dream Center', and made him aware (providing mugshots, etc..)of scumbag Weiker IF perhaps he does not know & have not heard back as yet. Will be interesting what, if any, action will be taken.Flag

Name: HAMISH on Feb 10, 2010Comments: gross wrongful advertising and promises of ammeneties in a complex which MRI were selling for a developer didnt materialise resulting in huge reduction in rental and resale value of property purchased and personal pleasure reduction in holiday experience in this holiday complex. eg no provision of Sandy Beach, with assosiated nautical pursuits--paddle boats etc----- False advertising is not being monitored or punished anywhere severty enough by the EC to prevent the presence of unscrupulous operators.Flag

Name: Fiona on Feb 10, 2010Comments: We bought through MRI and were also told that our rental income would pay for any mortgages taken out. Unfortunately they don't come anywhere near close. Not a good investment and I know we are not alone. It is a very painful lesson both financially and emotionally. If we had only got the verbal claims of the sales agents in writing then we would have something to work on. Yes I agree the properties were miss-sold with unsubstantiated claims of revenue.Flag

Name: Carole Vellosa on Feb 10, 2010Comments: We bought property in Turkey. It has been finished but to a bad standard. Luckily we did not go for aftersales or furniture so we are actually far better off than a lot of people. However MRI made big promises about our 5 star complex which is more like 2 star. We cannot rent and just keep paying out money for nothing. They cheat and lie and must be stopped.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 10, 2010Comments: They encouraged people to buy more than one property because they were paid commission on drop of the deposit, telling people that there would be mortgages in place, whatever their circumstances and so it would be silly not to buy more than one especially as the rental income would cover all the payments and give them a profit. There were no mortgages and people could not complete. Even where people had put 2 x 50% deposits in one of their developments and of cource could not get the mortgage, MRI would not let them join, would rather they lose all their money.Flag
