Reinstate Mr Aldridge at Olchfa School!

Dear all, After I heard about the sacking of Mr David Aldridge, I wrote to the Evening Post to complain about this. As other ex-pupils have written in to support him as well I thought it would be good idea to start a petition to get his sacking overturned and to see him reinstated at Olchfa School. As the Police have cleared him of any charges for this alleged 'assault on a pupil' then there is no reason why he should have been on suspension for a year and then sacked by Olchfa School. It therefore seems likely that a political campaign has been devised to get rid of Mr Aldridge. He is a great teacher and a good man and its very important that we keep teachers of his calibre in secondary education - therefore I urge you to sign this petition and support him. If anyone can carry out a physical/paper-based petition (I can set up the form!) in Swansea (I am based in London so I can only do an online campaign) then please e-mail me: katie.williams@lycos.com Many Thanks and regards to all, Katie (former Olchfa pupil, 1988-1995)

3 years ago Comments: Mr Aldridge was an example to all and a thorough gentleman; just read about this sacking online and felt dismayed that someone like him shoul dbe treated in this manner by the school, hope he was been reinstated, although maybe he's too good for the school. 3 years ago Comments: In the late 80's he was horrendously aggressive and unpleasant to me, and I wasn't at all surprised to hear of his suspension etc. The man has a temper which shouldn't be allowed near impressionable kids. All of the positive commenters have obviously never seen it.
