The Parkersburg, WV area is in desperate need of a better running bus system. My entire family (along with many others) relies on the bus and we are prohibited with the times we can do things. It stops running at around 5PM (for some that's their mid-day) and doesn't run on Sundays at all (not everyone is in church on that day). I've heard the excuse that not enough people use it to fund it but if anyone has been to a city you see it's just something that's automatically used- so instead of waiting for more to use the poor system we currently have, I say "build it and they will use it". It could do nothing but stimulate business in the M.O.V. and even if it means a small portion of taxes used to make it happen, I know I, myself, would not oppose. It's time to update the M.O.V. to the future and do away with old thinking that "you have to have a car to get by" notion. I have nephews not even old enough to be in pre-school using this and I want something better by the time they could choose to have a car or not-like I have chosen not to.
