Karin Thomsen | all of our children are precious cargo on these buses...would YOU do something if that was one of your kids on the bus? these buses need more safety regulations..

There comes a time when regulations and safety issues are so credulously evident that our government representatives should be held accountable for their lack of action. This bus initiative is needed desperately prior to MORE deaths and serious injury to our family and friends. Unlike our legislators that have been apprised to the seriousness of the deficiency in bus safety laws, MOST passengers are unaware of the risks and dangers present, if and when their bus becomes involved in an accident or rollover. These laws should be passed for none other, and most importantly, for our children, who through their vulnerability depend upon us, the responsible portion of our society to protect them. We impugn our legislation today, if not by our vote then by their conscience and their accountability to a higher authority, to pass these laws expeditiously, in the names of all those whom lost their lives to prior bus accidents; where a measure of common-sense safety would have made the difference to their living or dying!

Cory | I lost my cousin, and best friend, in a terrible motorcoach accident and he would likely still be here today if there were proper safety regulations in place. Pass this Act for Joseph Debolske. We all miss him.

Tamara Cupples | The pain felt by the parents -- and the entire college and community -- of those killed in the Bluffton University baseball team bus accident can be avoided with this legislation!
Angela Morris | This is long overdue. As a former Bluffton University athlete, this is something that hit home for myself, as well as the thousands of others who travel this way.

Katherine Dutton, MSN RN CNP | This is a no-brainer. We want parents to buckle up their children in cars, until they ride a bus and then we think they will be invinceable? We advocate helmets for skiing on the beginner slopes and riding bicycles at 10mph, and then we think they can survive a 60mph bus crash with their skulls intact? What is taking so long?
