Not too many churches or monasteries can offer the same environment and spirit. It would be a huge disappointment for me and I believe many others who for years were coming to the monastery with their families.Flag

Name: Andrew Bourque on Dec 5, 2007Comments: I am both sad and happy about this sale. I am sad that it will no longer be a Ukrainian Catholic monastery, but I am happy that a good and holy community of Christians will be taking the monastery over. I pray that the Coptic community will welcome the Ukrainian community. As a Catholic teacher I have taught many Coptic students at the local Catholic high school. I have been to the Coptic church in Mississauga and have found the community to be warm and welcoming to all followers of Christ! I am sure it will all work out in the end.Flag

Name: Sophia on Jan 3, 2008Comments: I cannot understand why the Coptics would want to buy this monastery from a bishop who is dishonest and is willing to sell a holy place without the approval of the Ukrainian people . There can be no blessing; no good will come from this. Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners.Flag

We as Christian brothers and sisters should never be stumbling stones to each other, and as such, although I am sure that my church will never prevent you access to the monastery, I hope that we can share this holy place together.Flag
