| 961 | Wendy | Campbell | SC | US | This precious landmark must be saved! Its another jewel in South Carolina's crown |
| 962 | Kyle | Allen | SC | US | Why OH why do we need more development! This is the last bastion of unspoiled nature in the downtown vicinity. Has there not been enough development of every other area in and around Charleston. Can we not leave just a bit of land undeveloped. Have we as humans come to a point in our existence where we can no longer think of our future? Can we only think, "if I destroy this place and put some man made structure to make a buck its OK"? This is a historic sight, a place where people died, a place where nature thrives. Take your plans else where greedy Mr. Developer. Take your plans somewhere else to exploit. Not as long as I have a breath will it be fair and justified to think that some elected official can take away something for everyone to treasure. And to think that MY KIDS may never be able to enjoy unspoiled nature because there wont be any left around here. What a sad state of affairs if the ones we entrust to do the right thing, dont do the right thing. Leave it unspoiled. Just look at other examples around the world and the impact of foot traffic and increased invasion of man. Look at the Galopogos Islands and the awful repercussions of increased human presence. The problem with this society is we dont learn from past mistakes quick enough. It takes repeated ineptness and tragedy to realize our mistakes. Have we not made enough development mistakes in the past. LEAVE MORRIS ISLAND ALONE! |

| 967 | Janise | Wriddle | IL | US | To develop condos on the island would fly in the face of the heroism that the men on both sides of the war faced. This should be preserved as a historic landmark without question. |

| 974 | Robert | Cohen | NY | US | Is there anything at all left from Ft Wagner? Can the location be seen in the photos. Were fallen soldiers actually buried there as depicted in Glory? |
| 975 | Mickey | Scaffe | NC | US | My GGG-Grandfather died 8/25/1864 from wounds received on Morris Island. One gggg-cousin was captured 7/10/1864 and another died 5/10/1863 on Morris Island. Morris Island should stand as it is, never to be developed. |

| 977 | James | Windham | AL | US | |
| 978 | Anonymous | Anonymous | FL | US | They (the rich developers} are just trying to "cash in" on land for their wealthy friends and do away with "our" countries history and "our" ancestors heritage. |

| 983 | Philip | Mole | | GB | If you CANT stop the developers than perhaps its time to exhume the remains at Fort Wagner and reinter them with FULL military honors. The fort should be fully documented before mother nature/global warming eraces whats left of her from history for good. |

| 985 | Andrew | Fleming | CA | US | I live in central California and have been an avid Civil War buff for years. I strongly feel the importance in preserving American history as well as a beautiful piece of South Carolina. I would be ashamed of the fact that something so significant to America could be turned into beach homes.
Respectfully,
A. Fleming |
