More Bikeways in Los Angeles!

We, the undersigned people of Los Angeles, want to express our needs for bicycle safety and our desire for the City to prioritize the implementation of the updated 2009 Bike Master Plan.

More and more people are starting to use the bicycle as a viable form of transportation. The updated 2009 Bike Master Plan is a significant opportunity for the City to address growing constituents' needs to create safer bicycle infrastructure. Historically, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation has not implemented much of the 1996 Master Plan and LA is falling far behind other major cities in the US in regards to implementing more bike infrastructure and creating safe streets for all users.

Currently bicycling in Los Angeles can be dangerous and inconvenient. To encourage people to get out of their cars and onto a bike, Los Angeles must create bikeways that are safe.

Riding a bicycle in Los Angeles is increasingly becoming a viable transportation alternative that will help reduce congestion, reduce carbon footprint, keep people healthy, and help save Angelenos money on commuting costs. We want safe, green, inexpensive, and healthy alternatives to driving.
