It seems that Ziva's character doesn't display the type of personality you would get from someone who was tortured in a terrorist camp. Especially one in which we can only assume she was the only woman...To me the Ray story line made her seem weak and too trusting of men. It was like they got whole new writers that knew nothing about her past :(Flag

Name: Karina Sofie on Apr 19, 2012Comments: Yes definitely. It seems that ever since Good Cop, Bad Cop the Somalia storyline has been ignored (e.g. in Broken Arrow Ziva wore a backless dress - I find it hard to believe that she left Somalia without a single scar... Even in Truth or Consequences she just looked like she'd gone for veeery long without a shower :/). I would very much like to see this brought up again, see that Ziva WAS actually affected by being tortured and held prisoner for over 3 months.Flag

It's the kind of thing that should have had a huge impact on the character - and clearly has in an off-screen way, since it's been mentioned more than once in the time since - but we the viewers don't know much of it. I don't need details on what kind of torture she went through, but how on earth did she learn to cope with it after the fact? That's what I want to see.Flag
