I am a brown-skinned young female who has trouble finding the right shade of foundation available in Australian stores. I am sure this dilemma transcends into other make-up products such as creams as well.

In particular, however, I have noticed a limited range of foundation shades in many stores which sell beauty products, including the well-known pink beauty & health store located all over the country. The reason I am aware there is a limit is because as I was in store, I noticed one particular brand only had 5 shades available, of which by the 4th level shade it suddenly had skipped across from the tone number "24" to "30", nothing else in between. I decided to search up the same brand and foundation product on the internet and noticed that on the international website (U.S.) there were several more shades available for purchase which were available in a more consistent shade succession and also had different names to them.

I don't understand why Australian beauty product retailers do not have a more diverse range of supply for people with darker skin or even varying tones/undertones. Although I did not notice, I am sure there are even a few lighter shades which are probably unavailable from Australian retailers too. Further, though I was after that particular brand, I would not be surprised if this occurs with other make-up brands in stores.

I think it's time that Australian companies/stores bring in a more diverse and accurate supply of shades to their shelves for the benefit and inclusion of all consumers, without them having to find other means to obtain the fitting product, such as online.
