We the undersigned citizens of Moore, Oklahoma request the establishment of a new quiet zone in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Federal Railroad Administration. We request that the quiet zone include the railroad crossing at Indian Hills Road and the railroad crossing at 34th Street between I-35 and Eastern Road. We request that the City of Moore submit to the Federal Railroad Administration a notice of intent to create a new quiet zone, make the necessary crossing improvements and ultimately silence the train horns. This petition is made in an effort to improve the quality of life of the citizens living in this area by eliminating unnecessary train horn noise. By following the recommendations of the Federal Railroad Administration the City of Moore can both eliminate the noise pollution caused by train horns and create safer railroad crossings.
