Name: Brooke Burling on Mar 12, 2010Comments: We need to stop this yearly dismantling of our school system. Let the BOE determine what we need to run the school district, with no fat in the budget, and then approve those numbers, no matter what the percentage increase!Flag

Name: Elaine Miller on Mar 12, 2010Comments: As a mother of five with two kids in college I can assure you that the college application process is very competitive. Unfortunately our kids don't have a chance of getting into a top college if we don't offer them a decent education and remain competitive with other towns. I have lived in Monroe for 23 years and the continual cuts to our school system are disgraceful! My husband and I bought our house many years ago because of the great reputation of the schools and we doubled the size of it eight years ago instead of moving because we love this town. We thought that Monroe was worth investing in a renovation but now our property values will decline with our declining school system. It is a known fact that people have moved to Monroe for the schools and it is another known fact that other towns are now being chosen instead. Every single homeowner will suffer declining property values if you continue making these cuts so please don't sacrifice our children's education any longer. They are our future and it's your responsibility as our elected officials to give them what they need!Flag
