Name: Liz Rankin on Feb 9, 2008Comments: Much needed with so many elderly residents in Monifieth. Can wait for considerable time to cross in safety, nightmare for those who are slower at walking.Flag

Name: Karen Rankin on Feb 9, 2008Comments: This is really important in view of the fact that there is a sheltered housing complex directly opposite the chemist, and many of the residents have impaired mobility which makes it extremely difficult for them to access the chemist without going to the crossing at the butcher, some of whom are unable to do this which impacts on their ability to maintain a degree of independence and means they rely on others to meet their needs.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 10, 2008Comments: Im in favour of this crossing because there are a lot of older people and people with disabilities who need time to cross in this part of the town centre.Flag

Name: Jim R on Feb 14, 2008Comments: I don't agree - whats wrong with walking the very short distance along the road to the crossing outside the bike shop ! Two crossings in such a short distance would be a nonsense!Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 15, 2008Comments: Have to agree two crossings so close together would be a bit much - compromise perhaps move the existing one westwards.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 16, 2008Comments: While I support the crossing, would it not be more beneficial and safer to create a bus bay within Tesco car park. This would stop the frustration allowing cars to pass at present drivers are pulling out to pass the parked bus.Flag

Name: David C.Stephen on Feb 19, 2008Comments: This is important for the residents of Hometay House to enable them to cross the main road without them having to walk down and cross the busy Tesco entrance drive and other minor roads to reach the existing crossing place.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 20, 2008Comments: This is an important crossing for the people who live in Monifieth, especially the residents of Hometay House who need to use the Chemist Shop and walk up to the Health Centre.Flag

Name: Pamela Smith on Feb 22, 2008Comments: This is the point where people get off the bus and the natural place to cross directly to visit Tesco. I, myself, would not think to walk along to the other crossing from this point to walk back to Tesco. The pensioners are even less inclined to do so.Flag

Name: Alan Young on Apr 20, 2008Comments: Children should be encouraged ro walk to school and not be driven there. Part of the reason for parents and other delivering their kids at the school is that they are worried about their charges being knocked down on buisy roads. The Monifieth High Street is very buisy, particularly in the morning with comuter traffic. To be more effective, Angus must ensure that this crossing is "manned" at appropriate times, to put control on pedestrians using it and not "cutting corners".Flag
