Comments: PASS THE LAW-Yes 3-5!!!!!!! Newark response is unbelievable when a call is made regarding domestic abuse/volience. The perp already knows their response time so the victim will endure serious amount of torture before they arrive. Their should be a ten minute top response time and a minimum of two minutes after the call is dispatched. When it takes hours for them to arrive GOD help the victim. Every individual should take restraining orders seriously!!!! A life is dependent on it and the law needs to act in a timly manner.

Comments: I think this is a very important issue and one that may have saved this young womans life. With this law being adopted perhaps someone else will be saved. I have been an advocate for victims of crime for several years now and all too often the court seems to look at the mother of the child/ren as a bitter woman because the relationship has ended and not someone who is struggling to keep their abusive husband as far away as possible. God bless the Family for doing something and not accepting this as another victim murdered at at the hand of the abuser who oftentimes have more rights than the acutal victim.

Comments: this is sooo unfair not only to the family of Monica but those children whop have just lost a constent in their life, their mother. Now these children have to suffer not having parents. The system does not show anuy mercy for victims of abused families.. If ther man is a danger to the wife then he is a danager to the children.. What affects the victim affects the children.. More and more people are being abused as time goes on, whether is is mental physical or emotional, it is all the same, abuse is abuse and it has devistaing results in the end.. Let protect the victims and the children of the victims... we have to stop this senceless killings because no one listened.
