In the wake of the Sandy Hook School shooting tragedy now is the time to take action against the powerful gun lobbyist who hold our legislators hostage and prevent them from making sensible gun safety laws in this country.

The gunman who shot his way into Sandy Hook School, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, was carrying an arsenal of hundreds of rounds of especially deadly ammunition — enough to kill just about every student in the school if given enough time, raising the chilling possibility that the bloodbath could have been even worse.

This country has a long tradition of possessing firearms.  We are not asking anyone to give up their hunting rifle or shotgun or pistol for protection.   We are asking for a ban on all combat style assault weapons and the ammunition clips that held enough bullets to kill 20 children and 6 adults in less than 10 minutes.  If it can happen at Sandy Hook—it can happen in your child’s school too.

Please join with MOM’S AGAINST ASSAULT WEAPONS today by signing this petition which will be mailed (US mail and email format) to every member of Congress in the United States of America by January 20th 2013.
