To:  Mokena SD #159 School Board

We, the undersigned, feel that Superintendent Perry does not represent the views of the parents and constituents in our School District, and we do not support the manner in which she is applying our resources.

We, the citizens residing in Mokena School District (MSD #159), do present this petition to MSD #159’s School Board for the immediate start of a search for a new Superintendent and the removal of the District’s current Superintendent Karen Perry from her position.

In the opinion of this petitioner and the undersigned Mokena School District residents, we believe that the residents of MSD #159 no longer have confidence in the current leadership in District 159:

 • Morale has suffered for the students, teachers, administration, and the community.

 • Superintendent Perry has made budget cuts by removing teaching positions while preserving most of its administrative jobs.

 • Superintendent Perry, and the administration, has repeatedly failed to provide information as to the appropriation of funds covered by the proposed referendum and has misrepresented the truth to taxpayers.

 • Superintendent Perry has made budget cuts by eliminating all extra curricular activities and is refusing to reinstate programs unless all can be reinstated. She will not negotiate on any terms and has repeatedly stated that extracurricular programs will be reinstated only through 4,000 votes for a .29 cent tax increase in November.

 • Superintendent Perry continues to mismanage taxpayers’ money. Budgetary spending has continued to increase yearly.

 • Superintendent Perry has created an atmosphere of distrust amongst, teachers, parents and the community. She has misrepresented the truth frequently to parents and anyone attending a public meeting over the last 8 months .
