The Mobile Proximity Marketing revolution has begun; the technology exists and demand is high, but no one has dug deep enough to create real impact. Current Mobile Marketing platforms do not support to creation of Business and Consumer relationships. Groupon and LivingSocial are also prevalent, but beyond supplying the technology, these companies haven’t satisfied any need. Groupon wants consumers to remember Groupon, not the business they bought a coupon for. How will businesses create networks of customers? How will they track consumer traffic or analyze their efforts? In addition, the pricing structures of these companies are not cost effective – Groupon and Livingsocial take 50% of all profits from each campaign. Even worse, they keep 100% of the profits for up to two months. Most small businesses find this difficult, as they do not have the capital to fill the orders of these campaigns without some revenue. Instead of understanding value through profits, there is a true need for a company/platform that understands the value of the consumers that create that profit. Paying for coupons or discounts is a real inconvenience - these platforms only leave consumers frustrated and discouraged. Consumers want value-added, smart savings. It's time to get buying power back.
