Name: Ed Crozier on May 21, 2012Comments: The City of Bloomington and Minnesota’s metro region has an unparalleled opportunity to have the best urban trail in the country. No where else in the nation is there such an bountiful natural resource area as the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and other connected public-owned wild lands adjacent to 3 million people. With a renovated Old Cedar Ave. Bridge the trail is incomparable!Flag

Name: Charles G. Kjos & Mary Ann Kjos on May 21, 2012Comments: We walked this bridge several times a week before it closed. There were almost always others on the bridge -- hikers, bikers, birders, etc., and most of all ordinary families. The bridge is wheelchair accessible from the FWS parking lot, so people in wheelchairs and people with walkers used the bridge -- a lot. The bridge was a loved and widely-used public resource.Flag

Name: Stan Danielson on May 25, 2012Comments: The “Missing Link” of the Minnesota River State Trail is the piece along the southern boundary of Bloomington, MInnesota. It is important that this section be completed as it connects the almost 100- mile length of the trail. The Old Cedar Avenue Bridge is the Hennepin County trail system connection to this trail. There are several grant monies available for the rehab of this bridge. This Cedar Avenue Bridge Trailhead is also one of the finest birding and natural areas in the area. Opening the bridge would also be a connection to the Eagan and Burnsville, Minnesota trail systems. Bring your family for a visit!Flag
