Comments: My name is Michael Polgur, and I approve the legalization of Mixed Martial Arts in New York State because it is a sport that is like any other and it is ignorant to keep it out of the state of New York because of its danger.

Comments: As a lifelong boxing fan, it is still easy to appreciate that MMA is a much safer sport. For one, there are so many ways to end a fight, including submissions which result in one party giving up before they experience any form of injury because they are placed in a dangerous position, that there is less acculated damage to the brain. Second, the apparent barbarity of allowing an injured fighter to be pursued to the ground actually results in fights being stopped before extensive damage can be done, as opposed to simply allowing the fighter 10 seconds to clear his head before taking more damage.
